Some people say that Russell’s sin is his claim that there are influential people who have a reach to many parts of this globe, who conspire to benefit themselves only, but harm the masses.

In other words, he is a conspiracy theorist. Indeed, he is found to highlight the nuances of wars, the meaning of being a modern president, corporate greed etc.

But for him to move from being a drug addict and leading an openly promiscuous life to being an anti-war, anti-corporate greed activist, and a married man is certainly a positive move.

He has fought his war against drugs, and it seems he won that one. But his war with his environment will not be easy to win. An environment that promotes and encourages promiscuousness and looks down at decency.

A price must be paid.

I hope he will find a way to make amends; for it is written:

“And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated. Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”
