General: “Mr President, there are 12 American POWs in Hiroshima. Should we cancel the atomic strike?”
President Truman: “No. The strike will go on.”
General: “But what about our boys?”
President Truman: “It’s just too bad for them. We’ll give them some medals. Posthumously, of course!”
